The initial cold shock of cold water activates your “fight or flight” response.
👉 Counter it with slow, intentional breaths
👉 Focus on prolonging each breath, especially the exhale
Longer exhales means a stronger calming response, aim for a 4-second inhale followed by a 6-second exhale. If you practice this breathing technique regularly, especially outside the ice bath, you’ll notice that your cold exposure sessions will improve 🙏
